The New Horizon Journey
My name is Victoria Hallam, and I am the founder of New Horizon Education, a newly established primary alternative provision setting in Nottingham. For over ten years, I have taught in mainstream primary schools, and throughout that time, I have been driven by a passion for supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs. I have seen so many children who struggle to thrive in traditional settings-not because of a lack of potential, but because the environment doesn’t meet their needs. This inspired me to take a step away from mainstream education and create a place where every child can truly feel they belong.
At New Horizon, my vision is to provide a nurturing and flexible environment where children are valued for who they are and supported to reach their full potential. I am committed to helping them build essential life skills, confidence, and resilience alongside their academic learning. From fostering positive relationships to encouraging independence through practical, hands-on activities, everything we do is designed to empower children to succeed in whatever they strive to achieve. Supporting these children is not just my career- it is my purpose, and every day I am inspired by their growth, curiosity, and achievements.
